Hello Charlotte Fans, well after 7 long months of countless hours of daily work on the site I will finally take a vacation. Don't worry though, its only for a month:) I am leaving you all with a brilliant set of pics from the July issue of ClassicFM Magazine. The pictures you will see in that feature were the result of a lot of work by Stephen and Simon who rushed to get these completed in order to get them to me before I left. Since the entire article is so great I decided to make it the Weekly Feature, however this one might stick around for just a tad longer than a week:)

Before I get into what will be going on while I'm gone let me fill you in on the other update I have added today. It's another contribution to the Literary Gallery, this time the contribution is from newcomer John Reedy with "Sweet Child of Heaven".

Ok, let me just quickly run through what you will see tomorrow once I'm gone. For starters the first page will be replaced with a special Summer News Page that will have all the latest news that comes out while I'm gone.  On that page there will be a link titled visit CharlotteChurch.net that will take you to this page and likewise all our current content. I still don't know what the situation will be with the phones where I'm going so I don't know if there will be any updates to the main site. You can be sure though that if there is any important news it can be found on the Summer Update page. All this information will be clearly spelled out on the page tomorrow so look for it then.

I will be returning on July 14, so the site will return to full capacity then. The coming months following my return look to be the brightest in both Charlotte's history and the history of this site so I will need the rest to get ready for all the excitement. Believe me, the best is truly yet to come! I want to wish all of you a safe and happy couple of weeks. Remember you can always talk about Charlotte in our Forums if you get a little bored:)  and I want to thank all the Teams for their great support during the past couple of months, we have grown exponentially and have truly become the #1 Source for Charlotte On-Line. I will see you all back here on July 14th ready to lead you into our most exciting months ever. Until then, as always, peace be with you,  - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, only 3 days left until vacation so I'm trying to pack in some good updates before I go. Today I have 2 sets of Magazine Photos and a new contribution to the Literary Gallery

First up lets cover the Magazine Photos, the first set comes to me from Roeland of Team Belgium. These pics are from a Dutch Magazine. As you will see Charlotte is wearing a little pin on her shirt, this is from a benefit program on commercial TV for "levenslijn" to raise money for cancer research. So again Charlotte proves her heart is made of gold.

The next magazine photo is from Classic FM where Charlotte appears on the July Issue's cover along with other Classical Brit Award Winners Bryn Terfel and Nigel Kennedy. Thanks to Simon for sending me this, I hope to possibly have the full text of the article scanned for you before I leave. Unfortunately US readers don't get this Classic FM for another month.

Finally, I have another contribution to the Literary Gallery from Kenny, this one's entitled "For Those Who Believe in Charlotte".  Ok, that's it for today, I will spend most of today once I wake up to send e-mails to all the staff just to let them know what's going to happen when I leave on Friday.  I will then share those plans with you in tomorrow's update.  Thanks for visiting and peace be with you, - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, as we start this new week the drought of news has finally ended. Yesterday the Irish Times published a feature on Charlotte in light of the her upcoming concert there.  I thought the article was so good I promoted it to the Media Feature of the week. Luckily it has a great pic so now we have a new Media Feature of the Week and a new Media Photo of the Week I'll admit that was a quick change over since we only released last weeks on Wednesday but I felt this had to be brought to the forefront right away. If you missed last weeks features you can find them in the Previous Media Features Archive or the Previous Media Photos Archive.  I'd like to thank Steve of Team USA for his quick work on sending this article in.

Another reason I'm rushing this out is because later today there is supposed to be some kind of Tropical Wave moving over South Florida so I have no idea how long all the utlilties will be working here. It should be nothing more than some lightning and a few inches of rain but I didn't want to wait till Monday for you to see this.

Next, I've updated the CharlotteChurch.net Digest so always be sure to check there first for old Site News if you happened to miss something.

Finally I just want to again reinforce that this is my last week in Florida until July 14 so please know that the pace will be slowing down a little here. If you read the article from the Irish Times it says that Charlotte is having two months off during the summer so lets hope it stays quiet while I'm gone. I will  have more about my absence as the week progresses including my special e-mail address which you can e-mail me at while I'm gone should you have any questions that need to be answered by me. I don't want to give it out yet because I'm still in the process of reserving it :) Ok friends, quite an active day for a change, take a look at that article and tonight , weather pending, I will have a quick recap of the events in the past week. Until then Peace be with you,  - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, well one week from now I will be up in the mountains of Maine but until then we have a lot to cover and I'm doing a fair share of it tonight with a large update to the Television Archive all thanks to Stephen of Team England. BTW, Stephen wrote the summaries you see below.

First up we have, captures taken from 'The Royal Variety Performance', held at The Hippodrome Theatre, Birmingham, England on Monday 29th November, 1999. The programme was performed in the presence of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth ll, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh. Charlotte sang 'O Mio Babbino Caro', and was later presented to Her Majesty, along with the galaxy of other stars who performed on the evening. The programme was transmitted on the UK's 'ITV' network on the evening of Saturday 4th December, 1999. Yes, I know this is a little old but nevertheless there are some amazing pictures here.

Next up we have, captures taken from 'Thames Television' programme 'Open House with Gloria Hunniford', broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK in late 1999. Interviewing Charlotte, in Gloria's absence, was former Beauty Queen Debbie Greenwood. Charlotte gave an interesting interview, during which a clip from 'The Big, Big Talent Show' was shown, and Charlotte's reaction to her impromptu, debut TV performance can be seen at the lower left of the frame. Charlotte rounded off the show by performing 'Just Wave Hello'. Again this is another one growing some cobwebs on it but still great pictures to be seen nonetheless.

Finally we have, captures taken from a programme broadcast on UK TV over the Christmas period, 1999. Charlotte sang a duet with Bryn Terfel. Stephen didn't know what the title of this programme was because he only caught the final seconds of it. I don't quite know what it is either since I wasn't in the UK at the time :). If you do know what it is drop me a line and I will be sure to amend the description as well as give you credit.

Overall, I have to give big thanks to my good friend Stephen from the ever resourceful Team England for his excellent work on these.  I'm glad to have some solid updates for once because you all deserve it in this "drought" period. I've been working my hardest to do some original features like this weeks one but to tell you the truth its been good to have a little slower pace for once, I haven't had a chance to catch my breath these past seven months so it's been good to step back a little and think about future directions for this site. I can tell you one thing and that is no matter what the future holds , I believe the best is yet to come. I will tell you more about what will go on during my vacation this weekend after you get a chance to enjoy this weeks numerous updates. Until then, peace be with you, - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, I have a rather large update for you tonight as I should after being gone for a day. First off I hope by now your browsers are displaying the new logo throughout the site, if they still aren't please contact me.

Now on to the updates, First as you probably first noticed we have a new Weekly Feature finally! I know it has seemed like an eternity but this new one's finally up. I think you will enjoy it thoroughly during this off period in the events schedule. As the name implies its all about the best Charlotte Resources on the Web so I hope this is a big help to everyone seeking some more Charlotte sites to add to their bookmarks.

Next up I have the article from the May issue of Music Alive available for download as a picture in the Magazine pictures section. I thank Steve of Team USA for his great work on getting this so quickly. Although there isn't really that much new in the article it is rather interesting as its a double feature with both Charlotte and rising blues star 14 year old Shannon Curfman. I know a good many of our viewers are fans of both artists so be sure check this article out.

Finally I have pictures from the UK music magazine Q. These are part of a article they did on Charlotte. I thank Hannah of Team England for her quick work on getting these to me as well. Unfortunately this article again falls under the inappropriate category so you wont be seeing any of the text here. As I have stated time and time again , we will in no way cover any of the behind the scenes problems that Charlotte is involved in.  We only cover that which benefits Charlotte and this particular article did not.

Ok friends, that's it for today, it's early morning here so I'm headed off to bed. Tomorrow I will be uploading some special Television Pics from the UK courtesy of Stephen of Team UK so you won't want to miss those. Until then, peace be with you,- Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, I hope your week is progressing along well. Before I start with today's up date I'll address the problem a lot of you are having with seeing the new logo. The problem lies in the fact that since the logo's file name hasn't changed your browser still wants to load it from the stored cache on your computer. The remedy for this situation is to clear out your Browser Cache.  Please try to do this and if it's still not coming up for you e-mail me. If it does come up for you please vote so I know how you feel about it.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way I can finally present to you the Media Features of the Week. This week both the Media Photo of the week and the Media Feature Story of the Week both come from Singapore courtesy of Lyn (Team Singapore). Charlotte was in Singapore as part of her Pacific Rim promotional tour in February and these features are from that time she spent there. They are quite interesting and definitely not available anywhere else so please check them out.

Next up I have yet another contribution to the Literary Art Gallery, again from Kenneth. This is a special poem entitled "Where There is Love, There Is a Way" it's written in both Spanish and English. Being from Spain Kenny happens to be fluent in both and I have to admit this poem sounds beautiful in both languages.

Ok friends, that's it for today, I'm still getting through all your e-mails so please be patient and hopefully I can wrap this feature up and release it finally. Also keep in mind that I will be leaving Friday, June 16th so things will quiet down a little here but I will do my best to keep in touch. I'll be back tomorrow with some more updates. Until then Peace be with you, - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, well what do you think of the new logo? Since there isn't much activity on the news front I've been spending some more time back in Photoshop for a change, to keep my skills up. I've also done a little graphic update to the Guestbook and Forums as well so consider this a little refresh to tide you over until CharlotteChurch.net 2.0 comes out later this Summer (Hopefully:).  Seriously though this has been the quietest it has been since well I started this regular update schedule back in December at CharlotteChurch.iwarp.com. Hopefully, Charlotte is enjoying the time off with her friends. I don't know if she's through with school for the summer but she should be quite soon.

Next, I'd just like to remind all the USA viewers to be on the lookout for Charlotte in Concert on PBS this month as the pledge drives start again. Please check your local listings for exact times or call up your local PBS station. While your at it why not make a pledge to PBS? After all, what other network can give you uninterrupted Charlotte programming?

Your also probably wondering where in the world the new weekly feature is? Well, please my apologies again it's going to be a little late again. I will work on it all day today and hopefully that will get it in good enough shape. At the very least I'll try to have the new Media Picture and the new Media Feature of the Week finished today.  OK friends lets hope we get some more news soon and trust me the updates are coming. Thanks for visiting. Peace be with you, - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, today I have a small but interesting update for you all as I continue to try and get the weekly feature complete for the coming week which I guess starts today. Time fly's doesn't it? Anyways lets start off with a brand new contribution to the Visual Arts Gallery. And what a contribution it is! It's a new pic by Jason Salonga who's starting to do some Charlotte Portraits in pastels. I think you'll agree that the results are impressive. Check all of Jason and Lourdes work out in our Visual Arts Gallery.

Next up I have an update to a feature that may seems stone age to many of you but due to a conversation thats been brewing on the CharlotteChurchFans list I've added an update that will likely be of interest.  The feature is about Charlotte's appearance on the Rosie O'Donnell show way back last year in March. I've added a sound clip to the feature that has Charlotte doing her best Cher impression. Many on the discussion list wanted to hear this and Adam sent it to me yesterday. Why all the interest? Well basically many are interested in this "second voice" that Charlotte says she has and I believe this clip is the best example of it so far. So what do you think about Charlotte having a second voice? Voice your opinion in the forums

That's it for today friends, seems Charlotte Land is a bit quiet again but hopefully that means Charlotte is taking a little break to finish up exams.  Look for the feature of the week to come out either tomorrow or Tuesday so, until then, Peace be with you,  - Mark

Hello Charlotte Fans, welcome to June. We leave behind May as being our busiest month ever as well as a pretty successful one for Charlotte with her great victory at the Classical Brit Awards. Your probably wondering what has been going on the past few days and basically there has been a combination of hardware problems and server issues that needed to be taken care of before I could get this update out.  Since its about 3 days late there is a lot packed into it so lets get started.

First off lets talk news, and there was a big story yesterday that came out through the wires telling us that Charlotte rejected a big movie role due to the role she would play in the film as a delinquent teen. You can read the full story in the News Page but I wish Charlotte the best of luck and I think that perfect film will come along eventually and as they always say good things come to those who wait.

Next up I've fixed several problems with our weekly feature, BBC Music Live 2000. I've also added three sound clips of Charlotte's performance including the duet with Nigel Kennedy thanks to Stephen. Speaking of Stephen he will be joining mighty Team England thus becoming the second team member to be named Stephen but trust me I can tell the two apart :)

I've also added two very special sound clips to our Japanese Feature. These are from Charlotte on a radio station in Japan where she did a beautiful wake up call singing Pie Jesu. These are definitely unique so give them a listen.

In the photo section I've added two great new Magazine Covers. The first is from Steve of Team USA who informs me that Charlotte will be on the cover of Music Alive for the May issue.  In the Magazine Archive we have a special preview of the cover. Clarissa also sent me a magazine cover this time from the Brazilian Magazine Barbie.  Check both of these out in the Magazine Archive

Finally the Literary Art Gallery grows bigger yet again with another submission from Louis this one's entitled "Gentle as the Spring". The Literary Art Gallery is really getting to be quite good and I hope that someday it might make it's way into a magazine somewhere because it really deserves the praise. I might try my hand at writing a poem one of these days, it's been a while but back in middle school I used to write them all the time so I hope I still got the knack for it. We'll see.

Ok friends, that will probably just about do it for today's update this week has gone by quite fast and I can't believe there are only 2 weeks left until I go away for vacation. I'll be talking about my upcoming absence in more depth throughout the next 2 weeks so that everyone knows what's going on.  See you back here tomorrow if everything goes well. Peace be with you,  - Mark
