Charlie
Gibson : "And there's some other pictures on the .. I think on the album notes. [Charlie prompts the video presenter] Lets take a look at those. Lets take a look at those. Lets take a look at those other
pictures from the album. There you are. You're all grown up."
Charlotte
Church : "Well .. well .. that .. that first one where .. where I'm sitting .. where I'm sitting down
that's from my first album and the other one is my fourth album. So
that's just like the difference."
Charlie : "Ahhhhh .. Well I wanna show this picture .. I think you were .. a couple years ago when you were singing... oopp .. I don't mean to put my hand in front of you. I am pointing at the monitor. This picture when you were singing for President Clinton, and .. now you look so young there."
Charlotte : "I know."
Charlie : "You really have .. It's amazing what happens in two years."
Charlotte : " Oh there's that. [giggles]"
Charlie : "It's really ..but this is ..mostly you've sung classical. This is show tunes. You love this kind of music?"
Charlotte : "Umm yeah .. well it's quite different. I decided that I .. I wanted to kind of break down different musical barriers between different musical types. so you know .. there's show tunes and there's Celtic songs .. ummm .. and you know
there's stuff like there's this one song called Habañera which I sing with a Classical voice. And it's in French and it's got really
aggressive Flamenco Guitar but really big South American drums. So it's a really interesting mix."
Charlie : "Well it points up .. you have a terrific range of music that you love. And when you come to New York do you go see Broadway Shows?"
Charlotte :
"Umm .. no .. I've only been to one Broadway Show and which was Chicago. But I went to see two plays when I was here. I went to see Proof and I went to The Shape Of Things."
Charlie : "How was that? All right?"
Charlotte : "They were both
Brilliant Brilliant plays. So I really enjoyed it."
Charlotte : "Well you may not have seen many Broadway shows but you sure can sing 'em."
Charlotte : "I know. [giggles]."
Charlie : "And you're gonna sing today a song from West Side Story."
Charlotte : "Yeah I'm gonna sing Somewhere. A song I've been singing for as long as I can remember. From .. from like the first time I ever sang a song."
Charlie : "Well we're delighted you're gonna sing it for us. You take care."
Charlotte : "Thank You."
Charlie : "Good to have you here .. Charlotte Church."
