Charlotte taped the "Christmas in Washington" special on the evening of 9 October 2001 at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. Stars who performed in the event include Reba McEntire, Tony Bennett, Mandy Moore and Usher. Naturally, President George W. Bush and his family were in attendance as well. The entire show was broadcast on TNT in North America. The event, sponsored by AOL Time Warner Inc., benefits the Children's National Medical Center. 

Songs performed in CHRISTMAS IN WASHINGTON include: "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" - Usher and Mandy Moore; "Somewhere" - Charlotte Church; "The Secret of Giving" - Reba McEntire; "This Christmas" - Usher; "Christmas for the Ones You Leave Behind" - Mandy Moore; "The Christmas Song" - Tony Bennett; "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and "Joy To the World" - all artists plus The President and Mrs. Bush.
