1 - Aired 26 December 2001
First question:
Host: The National Endowment for the Arts made a list for the top songs of the 20th century. What did it name as best song for the end of the millenium?
CC: Oh God, um, I've got a feeling it's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Contestant: I'll agree
Host: No, it's Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." CC: [shocked gasp]
Second Question:
Host: In a poll published by the Associated Press, who did teens say they would be more likely to look up to: a sports star, or a family member?
CC: Um, I'll say a family member.
Contestant: I'll agree!
Host: That's right!
Third Question:
Host: Charlotte, Sarah Caldwell is a distinguished professor at the University of Arkansas. She was also the first woman to do this at New York's Metropolitan Opera House. Do what?
CC: [unsure] Be a conductor?
Contestant: I disagree.
Host: Be a conductor, that's right
Fourth question:
Host: The master, Leonardo da Vinci, created only 17 [that's the teen reference here] of these, and even among them, some are unfinished.
CC: I'd probably say...wall painting [makes brushing gesture]
Host: Say what?--
CC: You know, the wall paintings! [I think she means like da Vinci's The Last Supper here]
Host: Wall paintings?
Contestant: I disagree!
Host: It's just paintings, paintings of any kind, so X gets the square and the win!
Fifth Question:
Host: Charlotte, ancient lore says if you drink from the horn of this mythological creature, you'll be protected from poison. The creature is a--what? CC: I think it's in Harry Potter! I think it's a Unicorn!
Contestant: I agree
Host: It is a unicorn, yes! Circle gets the square!
Game
2 - Aired 27 December 2001
First Question:
Host: Alright, Charlotte. When VH1 viewers were asked what band or artist made the most influential fashion statement, more people said---who?
CC: Ooh, Umm, [wrinkles nose in disapproval] I'd suppose I'd say Madonna.
Contestant: I disagree.
Host: Yes, that's right, circle gets the square!
Second Question:
Host: Hi Charlotte! In "The Sound of Music", Captain Von Trapp sings about "Something small and white, clean and bright" that greets him every morning. What is it?
CC: Um, I have to remember the song [concentrates]. "Edelweiss"!
Contestant: I agree.
Host: Yes, "Edelweiss", circle gets it!
Most of the questions were directed at the same two celebrities, so while the closing credits ran, the other celebrities had the camera aimed on them and were asked to do different things. Of course, Charlotte was asked to sing the show's opening theme song:
CC: [surprised] Oh! What's that? Wh-what??! I--I--I've got to sing??
[sings] 'I lo-o-oove Hollywoo-o-od!! [laughs hysterically]
Game
3 - Aired 28 December 2001
"One of our center squares has performed for the Pope. Which star is it?"
Host: Who performed for the Pope? Well, Charlotte Church did. Yes she did!
[applause]
Host: Do you have any sway? Because we would love to book him.
CC: [laughs] I have no idea!
Host: Ok, well, if you could just put a word in.
CC: [thumbs up] Alright!
The contestants were introduced, and as one contestant described her ambition to work in an endangered sealife facility, Charlotte seemed rather impressed.
She was only asked one question:
Host: A teenager in Cambridge, Ohio recently had to pay a stiff price for blaring music out of his car stereo. The judge sentenced him to four hours of doing--what?
CC: Ummm...I would say...being silent?
Contestant: I disagree.
Host: Four hours of listening to polka music! [loud laughter]
