| Regular
viewers of CharlotteChurch.net have been waiting
for this release ever since 18 September 2001 when
UKMark and DutchMark sent back
the first words about
an amazing concert Charlotte had just performed in
Cardiff, Wales. Although praise was quite abundant in
the days following the live concert it would have been
hard to imagine just how good the final product was to
be at that time. Let's make it perfectly clear,
Charlotte's fourth video effort is her best yet, if
you thought the same atmosphere and excitement of her
first video "Voice of an Angel: Live in
Concert" couldn't be duplicated, prepare to be surprised.
If you've never seen Charlotte live, this is as close
as it gets.

| As
usual, the video is being released in two
formats DVD and VHS. If you have the equipment,
the DVD provides the superior experience
complete with Dolby 5.1 Channel Sound and a
great set of special features that make it well
worth the investment. Charlotte's video tour of
Cardiff is quite charming, you might even find
yourself booking a holiday to Wales after
watching it. In fact this is one of those
videos that might make you even contemplate
buying DVD hardware, it's just that good. |

To
make things a bit confusing, there are two versions of
the DVD, the PBS version and the regular retail
edition. So far the only difference appears to be the
inclusion of the "Carrickfergus" music video
on the PBS cut. Whether or not this justifies the
higher cost is up to you but do remember that
supporting your local PBS affiliate ensures they will
be broadcasting Charlotte in the future. Speaking of
PBS, you can expect the Enchantment concert to be
broadcast again in March of 2002 during pledge season,
this is another opportunity to purchase the PBS DVD if
you absolutely have to have it.

Since
most of you will be buying this in retail you should
know that since the video just came out yesterday it
may not be exactly everywhere just yet. The video
should be in stock at your local Borders, Barnes and
Nobel and Best Buy but we haven't heard of any copies
found so far in stores such as Target. If offline
isn't your thing, every major online retailer has it
in stock and is ready to ship it out to you. Check the
direct purchase links below. Oh and if you
haven't noticed we're only mentioning North American
retailers and that's because Charlotte's latest isn't
available outside North America yet and frankly we
really wish that weren't the case but all the rest of
you out there should be able to get your hands on it
around late spring which is also around the time the
UK should see the Televised version.

Putting
distribution
issues aside and focusing on content, this is Charlotte's best mix ever,
you've got her old favourites, her latest tracks and
you can't forget the two most talked about ones
either, "Imagine" and "Bridge Over
Troubled Water". This is simply the only place
you'll get both of those together on one disc. This is
about more than music though as it truly shows the
full pageantry of a "modern" Charlotte
Concert in it's grandest splendour.

The
bottom line here is Charlotte has outdone herself yet
again. If you have the Enchantment CD you're missing
half the story as the live concert experience you get
on this release is second to none. Give Sony & Co.
credit as well for crafting such a great DVD and video
overall, the production value is simply first rate.
Well there you have it, you asked for it and they
delivered, now go out and get it, Enchantment awaits.

Verdict
- The essential addition to your Charlotte collection
in 2002.
