Susan Murphey : "How exciting it is to welcome Charlotte Church during our very first intermission of an absolutely wonderful concert. Charlotte thanks for spending some time with us."
Charlotte : "You're welcome. Thank you."
Susan : "First of all I need to know .. why do you call this concert Enchantment?"
Charlotte : "Well Enchantment's the name of the new CD. . and we called it Enchantment basically because .. ummm ... I think like like the whole music in general and especially some of the Celtic songs .. things I sing .. I sing sound you know kind of enchanted and just really magical and very special and I've got you know quite a few Celtic songs that I'm singing
Tonight. And I think just a lot of the music I'm singing has kind of like been tinged with different .. with different musical styles and things like that and just kind of sounds kind of Enchanted. And you know kind of like the whole set is rather Enchanted with
fairy lights and everything.
Susan : "An Enchanting concert and there is still much more of it to go here on your Public Television station."

Susan :
"If you're a fan of Charlotte Church .. you've watched her grow up here on public television. And I'm delighted to be able to say this is my 3rd interview with her. I'm feeling a little like the Queen Mom with the Princess of Wales to be honest with you. Umm Charlotte .. uhhh .. I was lucky to see you during the dress rehearsal and you were trying on various costumes and talk to me about how you chose the look of this concert and some of the costumes you would .. you wear."
Charlotte : "Well basically we had a stylist Claire, that came down to Cardiff and brought all the different dresses and clothes with her. And I decided I wanted this concert to look umm .. very
glamorous .. because a lot of the old school glamour has also disappeared. I agreed to the excursion on stage now with my jeans and t-shirt. And I want to make it really fuzzy and you know right."
Susan : "As you would say wicked."
Charlotte : "Wicked yeah wicked. Umm .. so you want it to look classy and elegant and you know not too provocative cause there's too much of that going on. So umm we just tried to .. and basically I chose all of the outfits.. and its just things that I liked and I felt comfortable in and things like that."
Susan : "You've done a wonderful job in overseeing your own growing up."

Susan : "We're back with Charlotte Church. And again I'm gonna go back to the dressing
rehearsals because this is where I saw where you did it when you sang .. when you sang 'Papa Can You Hear Me?' At one point in the dress rehearsal you turned to your own papa and kind of laughed but you sang it to him. Tell me about your relationship with your dad."
Charlotte : "[Giggles like a true teenager.] Why it's quite funny actually, because we just insult each other you know 24 / 7. But you know we kind of do it in a tongue in cheek father daughter way. I get along really well with my dad and we just have a laugh
generally.. I mean .. And sometimes he's quite authoritative .. as both my parents are. But
generally me and my dad .. like .. both play jokes on each other and we're just really stupid really stupid."
Susan : "And how .. how much influence do both your parents have in the songs you sing and in your image?"
Charlotte : "They have a lot of influence obviously because I'm under eighteen .. I'm still a child so you know their still my legal guardians and umm .. I mean generally .. they .. they let me do umm .. whatever I think is right : Right for me. Right for my career. And so they do give me quite free reign. But you know if I say .. if I say I wanna .. I wanna dress in you know .. a tiny skirt and no bra .. in a bra top .. they'd be 'I don't think so Charl you can put that jacket on right now.' So you know they're still like kind of noble parents."
Susan : "Mmm hmmm."
Charlotte : "Which is really really good though because I kind of have their support and you know and all the pressure goes onto me, it goes onto them first."
Susan : "Mmm hmm .."
Charlotte : "A Thank You pattern."
Susan : "Doing right by Charlotte doing right by public television."

Susan : "Back with Charlotte Church at the end of a very special concert. You must be so pleased Charlotte ?"
Charlotte : "Yeah I am very pleased .. Its all gone brilliantly so..."
Susan : "Yes."
Charlotte : "Quite .. quite ... [sighs] I was a bit nervous out there.
Susan : "And here we .. you know .. again on public television you are being seen by a very wide audience,"
Charlotte : "Yeah which is absolutely brilliant for me .. and I'm sure a lot of other artists who are on the public television channels. And I'd just like to say that it is so so important that you go to your phones right now and dial the number that's on the screens because public television really needs your support.. and umm . it would be evident that your support would have gone into public television and you'll be able to see all the programs that you like."
Susan : "That's right a lot of people think their one pledge wont make a difference and nothing could be further from the truth. So please make that call we introduced you to
wonderful artists and we'd like to continue to do that. You have the power with that phone call. Thank you."

Susan : "You know when this concert was in the planning stages the terrorist
atrocities had not yet occurred. And Charlotte, when you decided to put this concert together you wanted to remember the families of the victims and those who helped."
Charlotte : "Definitely. I mean it was very very important.. Britain lost a lot of people in the terrorist attacks as well. And in Britain we're really really .. really really hurt and touched by everything that was going on in America. So you know .. everybody just kind of .. all of the Americans seemed to just be just a lot more kind of positive and it just brought out the best side of me. It was a
awful awful thing to happen. And umm .. I sang 'Imagine' by John Lennon, to remember all those people who died, and to kind of celebrate their lives, and to remember all of their families and to show all our support was with their families. And with everybody in America because obviously it was absolutely
awful. And everybody was so shocked and while it .. while it happened .. we just .. we just absolutely couldn't believe it. So I really wanted to .. to show them that in Britain were thinking about them because I think that was the whole kind of mood of the country at the time."
Susan : "The celebration with Charlotte Church Continues in a moment..."
