David Allison (interviewer): Anyhow, I'm here with the incredible, 15-year-old Charlotte Church - - and, is it true, that yesterday you were 14, and today is your birthday?
Charlotte: Yeah, today's my birthday.

DA: Happy birthday.
CC: Thank you!

DA: Now, Charlotte, you're here as a presenter, is that correct?
CC: [nodding] Yeah, mm-hmm.

DA: Now, what's amazing is you've had
an amazing career at such a young age, uh, and at Christmas time you released a Christmas album called Dream a la Dream, or Dream a Dream, went right to #1, the #1-selling Christmas album - - must be gratifying the fact that you have this huge audience base at such a young age.
CC: [stammering a bit] Yeah, it's kind of weird to understand, to take in, um, because, I mean, the Christmas album was kind of such a huge success, we didn't like plan for it, because when we had the first album and the second album we thought, you know, it might have been a little bit of a novelty or something, but that was like bigger than any other album, so it was
unbelievable, so I'm very thankful.

DA: In the rush to classify everybody as the industry tends to do, people are calling you an opera singer. Is that a fair tag for you - - are you an opera singer?
CC: Umm, well, I sing classical music, so, I'm not an opera singer 'cause opera singers just sing in operas, but you know I kind of sing classical music, but I sing [Celtic] music, and I sing show songs and everything, so - - in the future then I want to try different things and maybe cross over a little, and [smiling, lilting] do some cool stuff!

DA: Maybe with Britney, we'll see. Charlotte - - what was that?
CC: [rolling eyes] I don't know - - I think Britney's fantastic, but I don't think my voice would lend to that kind of music.
DA: Have a good time tonight, Charlotte Church.
