INTERNATIONAL SOPRANO STAR CHARLOTTE CHURCH TO MAKE SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE WITH
HOUSTON SYMPHONY IN MARCH
Teenage sensation to appear for one-night-only in Houston debut March 14
Houston, Texas, January 4, 2000 - No stranger to viewers of late night television, attendees at sold-out concerts around the nation and the world, and purchasers of three best-selling albums, Charlotte Church, the sensational 14-year old Welsh soprano, will appear with the Houston Symphony in a special performance in Jones Hall at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14th.
The little girl with the astounding voice has sung for the Pope, the President of the United States, the Queen of England,
and the Prince of Wales . This year her U.S. tour will include only three appearances, one of which is her Houston debut. Houston Symphony resident conductor Mariusz Smolij will lead the orchestra at this concert. Details of the program have not yet been finalized.
Tickets for the special concert are available only to Houston Symphony subscribers until February 19th, when any remaining available tickets will be put on sale to the general public.
There will be a special post-concert reception with Charlotte Church. Attendance at the reception will be limited to the first 300 people who purchase special reception tickets in the center orchestra and box seat sections. Those seats are priced at $150 and $175. Other seats will range in price from $35 to $85.
