Charlotte
Church, who to date has sold eight million records worldwide
- announces her debut
solo U.K. concert - which will take place in Charlotte's
home town of Cardiff - on September 18th at St. Davids Hall.
Ticket prices are £12.00 and go on sale Wednesday September
5th from St. David's Box Office. Tel:- 02920-878444
The concert will feature music from Charlotte's new album
'Enchantment' - released on October 22nd. The album has a
broad spectrum of musical styles - from eclectic popular
songs to Broadway musicals and from classical music to
Celtic ballads.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the Noah's
Ark Appeal - a charity which raises funds for the first
Children's Hospital for Wales - dedicated specifically to
the needs of sick children and their families.
"It is every child's right, to have first class health
care and Wales is the only country in Europe without a
children's hospital. Having grown up in Cardiff and having
spent some time in the hospital , I can personally vouch for
the need for specialized care for children. Fortunately,
Noah's Ark Appeal is making a wonderful effort to redress
this deficiency," says 15 year-old Charlotte.
The concert will be recorded for television, in the new high
definition video format and in 5.1 digital
surround sound. This will be aired on a PBS special in the
US in November/December and in the U.K (air date to be
confirmed).
Doors open at 6.00pm. As this is a televised event, the
audience must be seated by 6.45pm - and the show maybe
between 2.5 to 3 hours long. All ticket holders attending
the show, agree to be part of the televised programme.
