Child Stars was a 'one off' programme, featuring famous people who started acting or singing when very young - just like Charlotte.
Most of the people featured were now much older and reflected on how being famous at such an early age affected their careers in later life.
Charlotte was one of the few stars to be featured still in their teens.

Charlotte : Fame has treated me really nicely and I get to get free clothes and free shoes and get my makeup and hair done all the time.

Charlotte : Obviously, I have made quite a lot of money from doing all this but it's all gone in a trust for me until I'm 22 and the numbers that they make up - I don't know where it comes from. Because, before Christmas they said I was worth 13 million - after Christmas they said I was worth 6 million so that shows what a load of rubbish it is because I must have spent 7 million over the Christmas time which I didn't do.

Charlotte : My career took off when I was 10. My Auntie got onto a TV show called 'The Big Big Talent Show' with Jonathon Ross and you had to have a friend or a family member to introduce you onto the show. So I introduced my Auntie.

Jonathon : I know you have a great voice as well - I've been told that you have a terrific voice. It's a very different style to your Aunt - is that right?
Charlotte : Very different. I'm a soprano and I'm into opera and she's not!
Jonathon : So, you're 11 years old - you're into opera.
Charlotte : Yeah.
Jonathon : I've been told you have a beautiful voice - will you give us a little burst.
Charlotte : Of course, please can I get a 'C' off the orchestra.
Jonathon : A 'C' off the orchestra? Well you can try, they haven't been hitting them this evening!
Charlotte : C please.
Charlotte sings an excerpt from Pie Jesu.
Jonathon : Wow, what about that!

Charlotte : Immediately after that we stared meeting all these different record companies and it was really scary first of all but it was really exciting at the same time. And we met all these different record companies and then we decided to go with Sony because they had like a bigger vision and that kind of stuff and they wanted to market me world wide and that. So we thought, Oh we'd better go with them then - they sound good.
If I didn't sing Pie Jesu, people would go like - she has to sing Pie Jesu - that's her theme tune. So I understand that, so I still sing it.

I mean obviously I do get like - Oh please no - not Pie Jesu again, but I've learnt to accept it now, like I've accepted everything else so, now I'm OK.
Sony President Paul Berger : So I think it's nothing less than remarkable that in the 10 short weeks since this album was released, we've been able to sell in excess of 600,000 copies of the 'Voice Of An Angel' album which represents double platinum and I'm very happy to present you finally with your double platinum award.
Charlotte : My family have coped amazingly well with my success. I mean like my parents travel around with me which is really, really good.
My mum has to work very hard I think because she has to kind of like balance everything, and my dad does, but mainly my mum. Because she has to balance like, the record company, with the TV companies, with me - which is the hardest, I must say!
No, but she has to kind of like try and keep everybody happy and most of all try and keep me happy and make sure that I'm not stressed and I'm not pressured and still let me be a normal teenager and that.

I do have more pressure on me than - like - as in the way I look - than a normal teenager, because of the position I'm in, but I've learned to accept that because I kind of understand it because lots of people are watching me every day on TV.

If I go out - if I don't like - cause generally when I go to town and stuff I've got to scrape my fringe back, put my bandana on and put my glasses on or something because otherwise loads of people come up and they recognise me and that and I just wanna be like - Oh right, I'm shopping with my friends. Um, but, you know, people come up and they'll like speak to me, or people will like start singing near me because they think I'm going to get them a record contract or something? And I'm like, sorry I can't do anything about it -you've got a nice voice and that. But um, so sometimes it is a bit strange and weird but you know, you kind of get used to it.

I find it actually quite easy to make new friends now I'm famous. It's kind of um, because like, but a lot of it could be false and that. Because of who I am - people just befriending me. But I've had friends before this happened so I know they are like my true, my real friends.
