Documentary of Charlotte's life so far
The show followed Charlotte from the very beginning of her career up to the point where she started to break America with her first album 'Voice Of An Angel'.
The following synopsis and captures pick up the last 17 minutes of the programme - I stumbled upon it half way through. If only
CharlotteChurch.net had been around in March 1999 - I would have had a tape ready to capture it all!

Charlotte sings Ave Maria.
Sony records President talks about how Charlotte has grown by leaps and bounds creatively. As time passes he appreciates more and more how "incredibly clever and intelligent she is - as a singer, as a person, as an artist - and I think that's something that can't be underestimated".

Charlotte sleeps in the car as the family travel from one TV appearance to another.

Charlotte talks about how hard it is to be away from home. Normally it's OK though.

Charlotte travels to America - the most important Music market in the world. If Charlotte is successful in America, her career will go to the stars. Charlotte and her father look at the sites of New York.
Charlotte used to go on one holiday a year, if she was lucky. Now she gets to travel the world and buy new clothes.
Charlotte goes shopping for toys in FAO Schwarz. Charlotte enjoys being recognised - sometimes. It's a bit scary when people point and stare but when they come up and ask for your autograph it's not too bad. You have to give your public as much time as possible because they are the ones who have put you where you are.

Charlotte can't work all the time. She has fun things to do as well.
Doing 3 hours of school a day, takes half the day. Charlotte says "It's very strange having Richard, my tutor, travelling around with us… When I go back to school, in a lot of subjects I'm ahead because 1 on 1 tuition is much more intense than 1 on like 30".

To get Charlotte recognised in America, Sony are making a TV advert. It's important to get the right look so a team of American stylists have been out shopping.
Charlotte says "My look is basically - me - they'll pick clothes and I'll say, well I like that and I like that … and then we'll discuss it - not argue! … My image at the moment is youthful, but elegant, but not too sexy in a way."

Charlotte says, " Soon they'll have to let me spread my wings a bit but er, I like the way they let me look 'cause it's funky."

Interviewer: "How much is your CD Charlotte."
Charlotte: (In an American accent) "Actually, it's $25."
Interviewer: "$25!"
Charlotte: "What a rip off!"
Interviewer: "You are 12 and you do occasionally throw a tantrum."
Charlotte: winces and laughs.
Interviewer: "Is that it?"
Charlotte: "Well yeah, y'know - I do but, not very often!"
Interviewer: "Well you're a kid!"
Charlotte: "Yeah, I'm allowed to."
Interviewer: "Is it hard for a 12 year old in the spotlight to go looking for a husband."
Charlotte: "I'm not like that interested at the moment because I'm so busy with my singing and the school I go to is an all girl school so we just like have a laugh and stuff and er .."
Interviewer: "But I got news for you - the guys are interested -because you're loaded."
Charlotte laughs.
Interviewer: "I know we're in the middle of a record store in mid town Manhattan - could you just belt out a little, some of that music you're famous for."
Charlotte: "OK then"
Interviewer: "Just a little, just a little. Here, I'll give you the microphone."
Charlotte sings a snippet from Pie Jesu.

"What I hope for with Charlotte is first and foremost for her to be happy in doing all of this and we hope the success continues. If it doesn't, we've had a great time, we've had an amazing time not just great - absolutely amazing" -
Maria Church.

"A lot of people say, do you say you're being exploited or anything? It's like - no way - this is what I want to do. If I didn't want to do it, I wouldn't be doing it. It's not because like, my parents are pushing me or anything, it's because I wanna do it and they're just saying, fine, you can do it if you want to, we'll just encourage you. Do you know what I mean? So there!"
