Charlotte's
Monday interview was short and to the point. She loves
Christmas time and the delights of sharing.
Monday's live interview on GMTV was yet
another winner for Charlotte

Kate:
"Now, you may have noticed that we're really
getting into the Christmas spirit this morning, so
who else would we turn to for a Christmas carol, but
the angelic Charlotte Church. Hi there!"
Charlotte: "Hiyah."
Kate: "Now you've been so busy recently, but
it's really paying off - Obviously, here we all love
you, but in the US you're going down fantastically,
aren't you?"

Charlotte:
"Yeah - it's getting pretty manic in the US,
because I've been over there promoting the Christmas
album and Christmas albums tend to do really well in
America. At the moment I'm number 7 in their
"Hot 100" charts - which is like the pop
charts over there so..."
Kate: "That's fantastic."
Charlotte: "...that's really cool and - er -
because it's so much of a bigger country, then...
erm... it'll sell loads and loads of copies in one
week. Like - because this is such a small country,
America will do in one week what the UK will do all
the time..." (laughs)

Quick
interchange and Charlotte continues: "... but
it's... but it's really mad... I love coming back
and doing UK television, because, you know... it's
my home and everything. But their TV's... they're
just wild... They're really... I mean, everybody in
the morning... I mean like, really, really
smiley..."
Kate: "Are they?"
Charlotte: "... and everything..."

Kate
interrupts, with mock severity: "What? You mean
we're grumpy!"
Charlotte: "NO... no! But I mean... but I mean
we're kind of 'nice smiley'... we're kind of - not
too much 'get-on-your-nerves' smiley."
Kate: "Now, you recorded this album, didn't
you? In the summer. That must be really hard getting
in the Christmas mood."
Charlotte: "Well - I mean - it was in August
and we recorded it in Britain, so - you know - it
was like, winter weather - erm - and then we
decorated the whole studio in Christmas decorations,
to get into the festive mood for it. So it wasn't
too difficult..."

Charlotte
continued: "...I really enjoyed recording it
because - I mean - I love... I love all Christmas
carols and stuff like that and..."
Kate: "Are you a Christmas fan - do you like
Christmas?"
Charlotte: "I'm a massive Christmas fan. I
decorate my whole bedroom... and I've been getting
Christmas presents for - like - three weeks in
advance... well... even more than that - I mean -
it's hard [for me] to get presents while your out on
the road, so duty-free's been a saviour."
Kate: "ha, ha, ha, ha. Fantastic. So
everybody's going to get a bottle of that
'wine'..."
Charlotte: "Yeah, yeah - or perfume..."

Kate:
"OK - so what are you going to sing for us,
this morning to give us our Christmas present?"
Charlotte: "I'm going tosing, 'When a Child is
Born'
Kate: "Ah - Fantastic... OK... well I'm going
to let you get out of that and slip out of your
way..."
When
is 'The Child' reborn in us?.. Not just at Christmas
Time I pray.
