One of Charlotte's greatest loves is reading. 'I'm
absolutely obsessed by Harry Potter. They're amazing books -
I've read them all six times,' she says.
What's
the longest period you've been away from home?
Earlier
this year, I was away for quite a few weeks. I was working
constantly. I travelled to New York, Toronto, Los Angeles,
Singapore, Japan, Sidney and then back to London. By the end
of the trip, Mum, Dad and I all agreed that we'd never do a
promotional trip for that long again - the maximum we o now
is three weeks. I got fed up with having to pack and wash my
stuff all the time. Once we stayed in this fantastic hotel
in Hong Kong, which overlooked the harbour and had lots of
fab things like a steam shower. It was just amazing.
With
all the traveling involved, you must find it draining having
to be on top form for your performances?
It
can be difficult, but I have to say that the performance are
the easy part. That's really what I like doing most.
Do
you ever get fed up with your 'angelic' image?
No.
Not really. But it can be a problem sometimes when I'm
feeling jet lagged and there are lots of people waiting to
meet me off the plane, particularly when I'm feeling tired.
I have bad days and I can't mention my angel status without
a joke now. It's not a hindrance; it's not like I want to be
a rock chick.
Like
most adolescents, you must have your moods
I
constantly argue with my mum and dad, but they are just
little arguments that last five minute. I've had to grow up
quicker than most teenager and I almost feel like I've
skipped the rebellious phase and moved on. One of the worst
time was the first day of the court case. I had to do two
appearances on GMTV, turn on the lights in Oxford Street,
then I had some press interviews. However, at the end of the
day, I've got a job to do and I try to do it to the bet of
my ability.
Has
your schedule ever become so exhausting that you've felt
like giving up singing?
The
long promotional tour I recently did was a bit tiring for
me, and sometimes when I've been in America things can be a
bit too hectic. The second time I went to Japan was
particularly hellish, because I was working a very hard
schedule. Singing at six in the morning, particularly when
you have jet lag, is really, really difficult.
