A
Letter to Charlotte
By John
Reedy
So darling, you make us laugh. So real, you make us cry.
So delicate, you make us sigh. (We may even do all three at
once!) One little smile, and I'm enthralled. Your little nose
is so neatly installed. A glance alone, and I'm overhauled.
Just think of you, and I'm renewed. Your name alone is joy
imbued. So sweet, so love-deserving-- Your spontaneity is
quite unnerving. You catch us off-guard, Evoke sweet emotion.
Your visage-a purely magical potion. How I ever lived without
you, I haven't the slightest notion. Here's what I say:
you brighten each and every day. I'm put to flight, clean out
of sight. I catapult to pure delight.
Dear
fairy princess, spirited sprite-So sweet, so radiantly bright.
Little lady with the big Big voice-O mighty mite.
Exquisitely lovely-and so erudite, Day star, shine upon us by
day and by night. Now, Charlotte, all I'm saying is true--
All these things I'm saying to you. And we love you so very
very much, dear friend!
