Ms Dynamite

Charlotte made a public appearance at the Panasonic Mercury Music Awards 2003. This award aims to celebrate the best in British music. The Prize is open to all types of music including pop, rock, dance, folk, jazz and contemporary classical.

An independent panel of judges selects the 'Albums of the Year' and then m
eets again on the night of the Mercury Show in September, to choose the overall Winner of the Prize. The music on the album is the only thing the judges discuss!

One of the presenters for this awards was last year's winner Ms Dynamite. This year's winner was rapper Dizzee Rascal.

Some of the other celebrities appearing at this award were Fame Academy student Paris Campbell-Edwards with vocal coach Carrie Grant and Indie-pop band Athlete.

Mercury's rising star

CHARLOTTE Church proved she is well and truly part of the coolest music scene, attending last night's Panasonic Mercury Music awards.

And it was a night for teenage stars with 19-year-old rapper Dizzee Rascal winning the Panasonic Mercury Music Prize for his album Boy In Da Corner.

He beat the likes of Coldplay, Radiohead, Lemon Jelly and The Thrills to collect the prize for most outstanding album.
