silence hangs in this moment like fruit heavy on a branch.

New York
Times Magazine - The Major Minor
(Week of 4/1/01)
It's
a Wednesday afternoon in mid-January, and Charlotte Church is
hanging out in a New York hotel room where, for one rare moment,
neither her parents, her publicist nor her record-label chaperone is
on hand. Having flown in from Wales the night before, she's sitting
barefoot in the middle of a big unmade bed, listening to a Destiny's
Child CD and preparing for a typically full week. First she will fly
down to Washington to sing at a presidential Inauguration concert.
Then back to New York, where she will perform on a bill with Eric
Clapton, Whitney Houston and a handful of other superstars at a
benefit concert at Carnegie Hall, after which she will attend a very
adult, very late party at Lotus, the downtown club-of-the-moment.
Then it's back down to Washington to wave from a float with the kid
actors from "Jerry Maguire" and "Home
Improvement." Switching back into "adult" mode, she
will attend the California Inaugural Ball, squeezing her rapidly
blossoming curves into a corseted, exquisitely uncomfortable Oscar
de la Renta gown. The next day, she'll be off to Los Angeles for
meetings with producers and writers. And then she'll return to
Wales, to her parents' home, her classes and her friends.

"She went to this big party they had for me in Cardiff and she rang me up to talk about it.
"She's really lovely and she's doing something in school on Popstars, so she wanted to talk to me."
Noel also denied each member of Hear'Say had been given a £40,000 cash advance by their record company.
However, he said when he did make some big money from the band, he'd buy his mum a house and move her away because she was getting hassle from people.

GetMusic.com Video Interview
(Week of
2/4/01 - 2/11/01)
In this era of teen pop, it should probably come as no surprise that youth is now storming the classical world. And leading the charge is 14-year-old Welsh soprano Charlotte Church. Blessed with a crystal-clear tone and a jaw-dropping range, Charlotte has struck a chord with the music-buying public, which has snapped up some six million copies of her first two albums (1998's Voice of an Angel and 1999's Charlotte Church). Not bad for a girl who got her start by singing the devotional hymn "Pie
Jesu" on a British television show. From that first moment in the spotlight, though, Charlotte's moved assuredly from one success to another, whether it's performing for famous figures like Pope John Paul II, President Clinton and Prince Charles, or maintaining her excellent grades in school. Now Charlotte has put her stamp on the holiday season with her joyous new album, Dream A Dream, featuring spirited interpretations of such seasonal favorites as "Little Drummer Boy," "Winter Wonderland" and "Silent Night."

Charlotte Church could be about to make her acting debut.
Church has revealed she's been in Los Angeles for the past few days

She says she doesn't want to make any mistakes by rushing into
anything but thinks a small independent film with a strong cast
would be ideal.
The 14-year-old told Unmissabletv.com she already has a wish list of
actors she's like to work with: "Ben Kingsley, Al Pacino,
Robert De Niro, Kevin Spacey, Judi Dench, Angelina Jolie, Haley Joel

Celeb
Teddy Bears
(Week of
1/14/01)
If you went down to London's fashionable Home House recently, you were in for a big surprise. For 18 of the
world's top stars generously agreed to dress and accessorise a limited-edition Steiff teddy bear. After the bears
were photographed alongside their famous owners, the pictures and the bears were auctioned off in aid of the
British Red Cross. The event raised a staggering £52,500. Here, the artistic stars, including Charlotte Church,
Sir Richard Branson and Elaine Paige, talk to OK! about their bears and reveal who their furry friend was when
they were growing up...
CHARLOTTE CHURCH AND 'DEVILISH ANGEL , Teenage singing star Charlotte jumped at the chance of
customising a bear for charity. '1 wanted Devilish Angel to be half devil, half angel -like me; she laughs. 'That's
why I've given the bear wings, flashing horns and a devil's fork. 'Because I'm not the world's best at sewing, I
got some help from my Aunty Caroline. She had stuff left over from some old costumes of
her's, which we made into the leotard and tutu. Caroline did all the sewing. The wings, horns and fork came from a joke shop in
Cardiff and the necklace used to be bracelets of mine.'

realize there is still a child behind that amazing talent. At

Q&A
with Charlotte Church
(Week of
12/31/00)
"At
14, Charlotte Church has -- as advertised in the title of her debut
album -- the voice of an angel, and the business savvy of Elton
John. Since her first major release two years ago, the petite
British opera star has worked nonstop, building an international
following that includes such highfalutin cats as President Clinton,
Queen Elizabeth and the pope. But when we caught up with Church a
few weeks ago, she was already sounding a little jaded by all the
glitz. Her rather elegant Christmas album, "Dream a
Dream," which includes a duet with 12-year-old American country
star Billy Gilman, is out now." Read

CHARLOTTE
CHURCH, THE WORLD’S YOUNGEST SOPRANO
(Week of 4/2/00)
Church
has loved music and performing for as long as she can remember.
‘When I was three and a half, I sang GHOSTBUSTERS with my cousin
at a seaside holiday camp in Caernarfon. When we’d finished, she
left the stage but I refused to go - they had to drag me off!’
Five years later, Church was making a name for herself at local
karaoke competitions, seeing off professional singers. ‘It was
then we realized there was really a voice there,’ recalls her
mother Marla. But the next step was all down to Charlotte. ‘I was
watching RICHARD AND JUDY and they said they were looking for
talented kids. Noone was around so I phoned up. The producers said I
had to sing on the phone. So I did Pie Jesu and that was it; I was
invited on the show!’ Click
