Here are some pictures and impressions from
CARDIFF and LLANDAFF where Charlotte is growing up.

The
station of CARDIFF is not very big for being the Capital of
WALES.

On
the way from the station to the shops. In the background you
can see the beautiful CARDIFF CASTLE and on the road two
policemen riding on horses.

If
you turn right in front of the castle you are on a street
with a large variety of little and big shops. These places
are very crowded on Saturdays. There are also some alleys
between some houses roofed over by glass. On both sides
there are lots of little shops. There you can find some
special souvenirs like Welsh flags, umbrellas, postcards,
music sheets, clothes and so on. Really interesting!
The
CASTLE WELSH CRAFTS shop in the opposite of the CASTLE I
recommend for souvenirs as well!

This
is the famous CARDIFF CITY HALL and two policemen again.

Some
pictures of the beautiful CARDIFF CASTLE with the main entry

The
view behind the castle wall: inside there is a second castle
surrounded by a moat.

The
residential part. There is an interesting guide tour through
this building!
On
the way to LLANDAFF (about
45min to walk)

The
street in front of the castle's main entry leads towards
LLANDAFF. (turn left)

Looking
back

After
about 300m the view from the CARDIFF BRIDGE to the RIVER
TAFF. At the next crossroads after the bridge turn right.
Then you are on CATHEDRAL ROAD.

Looking
back at the CATHEDRAL ROAD (Cardiff).

Later
you pass the LLANDAFF FIELDS (on the right) and on the next
crossroads turn right again. Then you are on CARDIFF ROAD
which leads you directly to Llandaff.

Looking
back at LLANDAFF. A lovely, quiet and nice village in my
taste!

The
HIGH STREET leads to LLANDAFF CATHEDRAL. Here people can go
shopping. There are several little shops and the post
office.

This
is LLANDAFF CATHEDRAL. The peal of bells sounds a bit
unusual, but very beautiful! I wish I could record it. When
I went inside I could listen to a singing lesson of a young
boy. He sang very well and beautifully. I guess he is
another big talent of Wales beside Charlotte, just unknown!

Here
some other houses. Most of them have the same style like
typical English houses.

On
the way to LLANDAFF NORTH (BRIDGE ROAD). Some newer houses.
A view from the bridge to the RIVER TAFF and in the
background LLANDAFF CATHEDRAL.
Unfortunately,
this is already the end. Hopefully now you can imagine a bit
where Charlotte is growing up. Anyway it was a great
experience and of course, I recommend to visit these places
if you have a chance!
