Synopsis
The

first stage appearance was at the age of three during a
seaside holiday in Caervarvon, and by the time she was

televison programme to hear from "talented
kids", the sound of her voice caused the producers to
invite her on to the show. Signed up by Sony Classical,
she released an album and was invited to perform for the

Hall, for Pope John Paul's Christmas concert at the
Vatican and for President Clinton at the White House. Her

Charlotte
lighting up London
| November 23
|
Here
is a photo and a story about Charlotte lighting up Oxford Street on
the 21st.

Charlotte
Church soprano lights up Oxford Street
The
schoolgirl with the "voice of an angel", Charlotte
Church, shed a little light through the drizzle when
she switched on the Christmas lights in Oxford Street
in London.
Crowds,
sheltering under their umbrellas, gathered to see the youngster
wearing a black top and trousers and turquoise jacket take her
place on the balcony of the HMV store.
Charlotte,
who said she had switched on lights in her Welsh home town, told
onlookers: "I am quite happy to be here in London because it
is the biggest city".
The youngster
flicked the switch which transformed the shopping street in to
a mass of shimmering bright lights with pea lighting in the trees
and falling snow light curtains along its entire
length.
As 12 giant
illuminated snowflakes pulsated, the teenager entertained fans
with three songs from her latest album Dream a Dream which was
released yesterday.
She began
with the title track Dream a Dream, which was followed with Ding
Dong Merrily On High and Hark the Herald Angels Sing, which gave a
festive air to the twinkling lights.
Charlotte,
who started her singing career at the age of 11, became the
youngest artist ever to have a number one album in the UK
classical charts and also the youngest to have a top
five hit in the UK album charts.

Charlotte
was on for just a brief moment, but she was challenged to break a
glass with her voice!! She took up the challenge and along
with Jools Holland on piano. She began singing a few notes,
but failing to break the glass. After 3 attempts she picked
up the glass and dropped it into a bucket of ice. The glass
