Charlotte at the Top of the Pops
with The Opera Song!| January
26
|

The Opera Song has entered the UK pop charts
at #3! This is quite an amazing achievement for Charlotte and
producer of The Opera Song, Darren Tate as this is their first work
together and Charlotte's first venture into the Dance genre.
You can see the full chart standings here:

about The Opera Song in our Forums!
Below is how The Western Mail reported it:
CMC pops up at No 3 Jan 27 2003
The Western Mail - The National Newspaper Of Wales
CHARLOTTE Church can now claim to be a bona fide pop star.
Her new song, recorded with dance music supremo Jurgen Vries, last night entered the BBC's official Top 40 at number three.
Entitled The Opera Song (Brave New World), this latest venture could be Charlotte's passport to an even wider international audience than she currently enjoys.
In recent weeks the 16-year-old singer has spoken of her desire to move beyond a classical repertoire and release more contemporary and personal tracks.
By choosing to explore the "trance" genre, an offshoot of dance music, she is able to continue to use her operatic skills which fit well with its euphoric, up-tempo style.
This is also the first time she has appeared in the charts with the new title CMC. This stands for Charlotte Maria Church.
Her position close to the pinnacle of the charts suggests that an enthusiastic market of new fans is waiting to be exploited.
Charlotte's mother Maria insists that her daughter is not turning her back on the opera world.
She said, "It happened by accident. A record label sent her the track, asked her to sing on it and she agreed. But it is just a one-off."
However, Charlotte told Radio One's Chris Moyles that she does not consider herself a "proper opera singer".
She said, "Opera is a lot of work. I'd have to train for hours a day. I used to like it a lot, but now my taste has changed."
