Have you or any of your family got money on you being Christmas
number one? Well, actually, three months ago my Grandfathers
friend from the pub put a bet on me for £20 that I would be number
one for Christmas, either single or album. They didn't think that
I'd be releasing anything at the bookies so they put 1000-1 chances
on it. So if I do go to number one with something he's going to earn
£20,000 - he's going out buying as many records as he possibly can!
Will you be going to church on Christmas day?
I'll be going to midnight mass in Wales.
Where will you be doing your Christmas shopping this year?
I've already done it - in Boots, and various airlines, duty
free.
What could we get you for Christmas which you couldn't afford
yourself?
I'd like somebody to get me a robodog. They're wicked. Apart
from that just make-up, jewelery, clothes, shoes - just the usual
stuff 13 year old teenage girls want for Christmas.
What do you think about the prospect of ravers getting down to
your dance mix of your new single?That's weird, that's really
bizzare to think about. I can't imagine it.Do you wish you were
older so you could go to clubs?Not really, I've got plenty of time.
What's the worst CD you have ever been given for Christmas?
I've only ever had one CD for Christmas anyway and that was
Spiceworld.
And what CD's do you want this year?
Tom Jones' 'Reload'. I wrote out a Christmas list of Backstreet
Boys 'Millennium', Five's album and Christina Aguilera but I bought
them all! So it's only Tom Jones now.
Have you crossed anyone off your Christmas card list this
year?
No. I've added loads though. Loads of people from Sony. Lots of
people in the music business who I didn't have to get cards for last
year I do have to know.
What's the most Rock 'n' Roll thing you have done this year?
I don't do rock n roll things. We go to hotel rooms and keep
them nice and tidy…
What has been the best concert of the year?
Celine Dion was fantastic in Wembley Arena.
Are you going to knock Cliff Richard off the number one spot?
No. I think either Westlife are going to be number one or Steps
or John Lennon's 'Imagine'. John Lennon is the single I'd go out and
buy. And I'd buy Westlife's as well but not Steps – not that I
don't like them or anything just because I don't think this is one
of their most strongest songs.
Will you be going on the Millennium Wheel?
Yes! We stayed in the Whitehouse (hotel on the Thames) and we
could see it from the window and I'd love to go there!
Who will you be taking to the Manic Street Preachers
Millennium gig in Cardiff?
Can I take more than one? I wanna take Britney Spears, Will
Smith, and Lauryn Hill.
What song would you want them to play at midnight?
I want the Manics to sing Millennium by Robbie Williams after
twelve o'clock with Robbie Williams and before midnight 'Everyday
When I Wake Up I Thank The Lord I'm Welsh' with Catatonia.
Who is going to win Record Of The Year 1999?
Baby One More Time, or Shania Twain's 'That Don't Impress Me
Much' who I think is gonna win it because that was a fantastic
single. Please send me a copy of Shania Twain's album because I
can't be bothered to buy it!
