SINGER Charlotte
Church is preparing for her screen debut in the United States.
She is in Los
Angeles to try out her acting for an episode of the television
series Touched by an Angel.
In the show,
which stars Irish born Roma Downey, Charlotte will play a
prodigiously gifted singer.
It comes as she
continues to enjoy chart success.
Her album, Voice
of an Angel has sold two million copies in the UK.
The 13-year-old
Cardiff star’s recording company Sony Music and Entertainment
said, “She is over the moon with its success, it is staggering.”
It has already
been a hectic month for the Llandaff schoolgirl.
She rubbed
shoulders with some of the biggest names in the rock world at the
MTV awards in New York.
As well as
helping to present awards with US superstars Ricky Martin, Lauryn
Hill, Janet Jackson and Puff Daddy, the 13-year-old gave the
audience an off-the-cuff display of her amazing vocal talent.
Representing
the British music industry with her were fellow presenters Sir Paul
McCartney and rock legend David Bowie.
She was also
top of the bill at the BBC Children’s Prom in Hyde Park, London.
