Rupert Murdoch, 68, declared himself
"the luckiest man in the world" Friday when he
married his former employee, Wendy Deng, 32, in a sunset
wedding in New York harbor.
The nuptials,
presided over by New York Supreme Court Justice Jacqueline
Silbermann, took place on Murdoch's garlanded 155-foot yacht Morning Glory.
On board were the billionaire's children, Elizabeth, Prudence,
Lachlan and James, and Deng's parents, Bill and Joan, who flew in
from Guangzhou, China.
The wedding came
barely three weeks after Murdoch secured his divorce from
his wife of 32 years, Anna.
Although Deng is
eight years younger than Murdoch's daughter, Elizabeth, all
his children have grown "very close" to her, says Murdoch rep Howard
Rubenstein. The spokesman added that a wedding performance by 13-year-old
singing sensation Charlotte Church was a present from the children.
