Charlotte shines at Shrek show, Jun 29 2004
WELSH celebrities joined young Shrek
fans in Cardiff last night for the premiere of the film's sequel.
Charlotte Church was at the UGC cinema in the Welsh capital with her
mum Maria, aunt Caroline and eight-year-old cousin Elliott Cooper-Clucas.
The singer looked very tanned and summery as she walked down the
green carpet in her white jeans and a candy striped tunic-style
low-cut top and earrings, teamed with a pink bag and white
flip-flops.
Earlier, former Hear'Say singer Noel Sullivan and Coupling actor
Richard Mylan were followed by Company Bachelor of the Year
runner-up Alun Williams and fellow S4C presenter Rhydian Bowen
Phillips with his sister Lowri.
Television presenters Amanda Protheroe Thomas and Ruth Dodsworth
also came along with friends and family for the screening of the
film starring the voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie
Murphy.
Julie Andrews, the voice of Queen Lillian, Antonio Banderas, the man
behind Puss in Boots and John Cleese (King Harold) were just some of
the stars to grace the green carpet - in homage to the colour of the
Shrek ogre - for the premiere in London's Leicester Square.
The actors had only met up as a team during the Cannes premiere last
month, as most of their parts were recorded in studios across the
world.
Last night they were greeted by fans of the movie, which has taken
more than £200m, more than five times the amount it cost to make,
since it was released in May in the US.
Some of the stars of the animated film, like Myers and Diaz, who
reportedly picked up £5.5m for their parts, failed to make it last
night.
