Live Performance and CD Signing
- HMV London
| July 12 |
=Notes=
In the launch
week of ‘Tissues and Issues’, Charlotte met
hundreds of fans as she gave live performances
and signed copies of the album at HMV stores in
Cardiff and London. Here is UKMark’s report from
the London event …
=Report=

The crowds started to gather in front of the stage at around
17:00 in HMV’s flagship store, 150 Oxford Street. The
security men were installing crowd barriers a few metres in
front of the stage – separating the press photographers and
TV crews from the public. Around 20 media types turned up so
we were relieved to hear that most were only permitted to
stay for the first song – after which, the fans would have
an unobstructed view.
On the dot of 18:00, Charlotte appeared on stage with her
regular acoustic guitarist and said her hello’s to the now
swelling crowds.
Charlotte sang 3 songs: ‘Moodswings’, ‘Casualty of Love’
(apparently her favourite) and, of course, ‘Crazy Chick’.
It is quite an experience to see and hear Charlotte play an
acoustic set; her voice is so strong and works well with the
clean arrangement of the lone guitar.
All too soon Charlotte finished her last song and the stage
was prepared for her to meet the fans and autograph their
CDs. Her performance had attracted quite a queue by this
point!
The fans were led up in turn onto the stage and Charlotte
chatted as she signed the CDs. As people came down from the
stage, some were greeted (rather surprisingly!) by a TV crew
from Channel 4, asking everyone what they thought of
Charlotte’s new direction. The result has been published on
the
Channel 4 website.
A great launch event for the new album.
